Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born in Ranchi, Bihar (now in Jharkhand) to a middle-class couple.ms dhoni lifestyle is not hidden from worldDhoni used to play badminton and football while in school. He was a goalkeeper for his football team and was sent to play cricket for a local cricket club by his football coach. Early Career

Dhoni made his Ranji Trophy debut for Bihar in the 1999—2000 season as an 18 year old. He made a half-century in his debut match scoring 68* runs against Assam Cricket Team. He finished the season with 283 runs in five matches. He went on to score his first century in a Ranji match against Bengal in the 2000-01 season. Dhoni soon started gaining recognition for his hard-hitting batting style. In the 2003-04 season, he was selected for the India A squad for India’s tour of Zimbabwe and Kenya. He kept up to his reputation as a wicket-keeper. His performance in the series caught the attention of the then Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly and Ravi Shastri. However, he couldn’t make it to the national team then.
